Fatigued!

We wake up to crimson showers scalding our land virtually every day! Fatigued!!! Fatigued so much so we have accepted it as a way of life! Who knows we might be attacked next?! I shattered when I saw the visuals of the hotels go up in flames! People crying on the roads mourning their loved ones. It's very disheartening. Our eyes have gotten accustomed to brutal arson. The value of life is on the brink of emptiness. A time when we will shrug such incidents off our shoulder is not far away!! May I call it ugly devolution?!!

Order noodles. Get free roach toppings!!

I walked to the Wangs Kitchen counter at La Marina food court and breezed through the menu. I didn't have to do that anyway, cos my standard order would be schezwan noodles. It was a weekday and the crowd was minimal with men at the counters yawning and trying hard to fight sleep! Perhaps that's the reason they failed to notice tiny roaches skimming on the noodles. Insects and Me! What a connect! It's a very common sight at any restaurant. I guess the popularity of the restaurant and the size of the roaches are inversely proportional!! If you think I'd have silently removed it and indulged, you're wrong. I'm not a foodie and I'm not an insect lover if that's what you concluded from my previous posts! I looked at the insect and looked at the guy! Again, I looked at the insect and looked at the guy! He was already transfixed and I was nauseous! He offered to replace, I declined and angrily questioned the manager. A woman behind me came forward and joined me in the argument. I was taken aback by the manager's response. He yelled at the guy for offering to replace the noodles. What's more shocking is, he fumed at him for not removing the roaches surreptitiously!! Now, that's what I call responsibility and love for his employer!! And, all this clamour in front of a few potential customers!! I cancelled the order and stormed out of that place. I turned back after a few steps to find the same woman receiving her order! No stomach-churning?!?! Pretty strong minded huh?! Fight till you are pushed to the limit, else surrender??!?! Is this our way of life??!!
